Magellanic Gastronomy

The wonderful hidden delights for your palate

Have you ever imagined what they eat in the most remote places in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region? Today we bring you a wonderful gallery of these dishes prepared at our Errante Lodge and Restaurant. Among them, you can enjoy different ingredients grown locally or acquired through trade with small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the area, which allows for the economic and sustainable development of the ingredients, thus avoiding harming our incredible ecosystem.

Magellanic Gastronomy

To survive the area’s cold, the Yahgans traditionally ate meat from the sea, supplemented with local herbs and fruits delivered by the islands themselves. Today, these resources are still utilized, but in a conscious and sustainable way. At Errante, you can try incredible dishes, such as the Magellanic platter, which features various marine species, allowing you to enjoy the luxury of nature on your palate.

Local gastronomy for everyone

We also have different dishes for those who are vegetarian, have gluten allergies, or are unable to eat seafood. You can let us know your restrictions when booking. Remember to do so in advance, as while we source ingredients locally, some more elaborate or complex dishes are shipped in once a week by boat from other places to supply this wonderful little island.

Food on a stick, a natural luxury

If you stay with us, you can also enjoy a wonderful asado al palo, prepared by the incredible Kanasaka ranch, the only one found in these remote corners of these lands. When you sail with us, you can try this wonderful asado, which takes time to prepare and has an unparalleled flavor for your palate.

We also have a host of recipes and preparations prepared by our chefs, which will be waiting for you next season so you can appreciate them for yourself, not just through photographs, but also so you can experience the luxury of nature on your palate. (We’re not responsible if you get a craving right now with the wonderful dishes we show you below.)
